Tax Free

Ok I was really excited about tax free weekend b/c I knew I was going to get alot of hours and we were going to be busy.  Well, I never thought about how tired I was going to be and I'm exhausted.  Today really was the exclamation point to the weekend as people flocked in after church.  I decided to do the right thing and go over there and help but I was swamped with customers and soon found myself in over my head.  I went over there looking for the customers who had already decided what computer they wanted and all I had to do was ring them up.  Well, I went over there and that's when things just got crazy.  I looked at my watch and shook my head b/c I knew then I wasn't going to get off on time.  But I didn't get off too late so it wasn't that bad.  Anyway, our store manager punked all of them and told them there will no longer be smoke breaks and I'm glad.  I didn't mind that they would go smoke but it sort of pissed me off when they went on smoke breaks for 15 min.  I mean I don't smoke so it's unfair they were getting a paid for 15 min break.  I mean if I walked outside and just chilled  for 15 min then came back in and when they said what were you doing I said chilling and calming down my nerves they wouldn't want to hear that.  People keep reminding me that school is about to start and I'm tired of hearing it already.  Well, Sunday I got my preview of Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) and I'm still excited for it.  People look at me crazy when I say that I'm looking forward to working a 14+ hour shift.  But I know the day will go by fast and I can only imagine how big that paycheck would be.  Which reminds me that I get my first real paycheck on Thursday and it's about time.  Well, anyway I'm getting tired of typing and staying up so I'm outttttttttttttttttt.

Chill Bill

Well, summer school is officially over and I don't think there is a happier soul then me.  I can't really chill to long b/c in two weeks school will be starting all over again so that's a bum.  Life at my new job is pretty good with me getting 28 hours next week and 37 hours the week before school starts.  So that means that starting the school year off my check book should be pretty nice.  Today at work started off pretty well when I sold a xbox 360 to a guy who was buying it for his son.  He came in to buy the NCAA 2007 for regular xbox but after a conversation with me he was ready to upgrade to a 360 for his son.  Well, he went on to buy $850 worth of stuff for the system so some lucky boy is at home right now having a good ass time.  The day went south after that because it seemed like customer after customer kept coming to me asking me about stuff from other departments.  I don't really mind it's just that the people in the TV section are never there so I always have to go find them and tell them they have a customer.  But also today I sold my first MP3 player and I was pretty happy about that b/c since I don't have an one I really don't know to much about them and since the computer training really doesn't teach you alot about them it's hard for me to sell them to people.  I try to stay away from that section b/c when people come in there with specific questions that aren't general questions meaning you have to really know about or own the product to answer there question then I be stuck.  Well, I guess this is what I'm going to have to put up it's not really bad at all it's pretty cool.  Just like every job it has its ups and it has its downs but that's what I'm going to have to put up with for awhile.  I can admit I'm scared to see how it's going to be when the holidays get here and our store is packed out with angry customers.  Even worse the dreaded Black Friday where I've heard that some people work from 4 am to 11 pm.  I know it's going to be hell that day but I would love to work it b/c I don't think of how long a day it is I think about how FAT my check would be.  My contract is over with cingular right now and I'm debating about who to switch to.  I'm debating between getting a PDA through Verizon or Cingular or getting the new sidekick 3 from Tmobile.  I know people who have the sidekick 2 and it's really tight and I know someone with a PDA and it's also nice but right now I can't make a decision.  I'm leaning towards Verizon b/c we get a discount off their phones and service but I haven't talked to anybody yet so I don't know how big that discount actually is..  But hopefully in about month and a half I will have a new phone and maybe even a new service.  Well, I'm not even going to waste my time and tell you guys how Carrollton Place screwed me over on my renewal but just for the record they did and I'm going to be in their office all the time this year complaining about the smallest things.  But anyway I think I've wrote enough so I'm out about to get on this chill bill, I got some E&J on ice so I may just pour me up a cup of that. Cheaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Well, I officially have started my new day and it has been very interesting.  The two full timers who work in my area don't get along and to make things worse they try to get me and this other new girl to be on their sides and battle the other one.  Yea I know how childish is that.  Training consists of these "lessons" that are done on the computer and some on the floor experience where we work with the full timers.  Well, the lessons on the computer are boring as hell and hard to remember them and one of the full timers is so arrogant it's hard to learn from him while the other full timer doesn't even like training people.  She told us that the first day that she didn't like training people but then she asked me who I wanted to train me Eric or her and I was like you just told me earlier you don't like training people.  So she replies well I'll train you if I have to and I was like well that's ok I don't want you to do something you don't want to do.  So she probably thinks I don't like her but I really don't have anything against her I just don't want to get into her childish little game with Eric the other full timer.  I'm so glad that I have been getting good customers who have been patient with me while I learn this cash register system.  Only mad customers I've experienced are the ones who can't find people who work in the section they are looking at.  They then come to me asking can I help them and I then have to go find the employee and meanwhile the customer is mad b/c they had to wait lol.  Well, it's much more going on but I'm tired and I have to wake up at 7:30 am so I'm about to go to sleep.

1st Day

Well, today was my first day on the job and it was quite boring.  For the next week and a half I will spend most of my time on the computer doing what they call "training".  It really sucks and it's pretty boring but it's required before I can actually hit the big stage and start selling dvds to blind people and cds to deaf people.  The job seems pretty cool so far and the best part right now has to be the break room.  Consists of the regular stuff like microwave, fridge and lockers but what sets it off is the couch, 52' flat screen tv and the playstation 2 hooked up to it.  I'm pretty sure I'll be spending all my breaks in there, gives me a reason to stay after work and maybe even get there earlier.  But I only met a couple of people today and everybody seemed to be straight.  This one girl in my section gave me her version of what work will be like and who she cares for and doesn't care for.  While tomorrow I will talk to a guy who she doesn't like so I'm pretty sure he will give me his version of what work is like and I already know it won't be the same as hers.  Anyway, I just started so I'm not trying to get in the middle of these two.  The way she was acting it seemed like a relationship gone bad or something maybe he hit it and quit it, lol I don't know.  Anyway the job seems pretty easy but I guess all that will change once I work one busy shift but it's cool I'm use to being busy so it won't matter.  I have a test tomorrow and I haven't even opened my book or notes the whole weekend so that means tomorrow I'm going to be in DEEP trouble.  Well I'm suppose to be waking up at 7:30 so I guess I need to be going now and either open my book or go to sleep lol.

Moving On

My life has been very eventful since the Fourth of July.  It all started on Indepencdence day when I received a call from Circuit Ctity.  About two weeks earlier I had sent in application online but I didnt' think anything would come of it, well I was wrong.  The lady asked me was I still interested and I told her hell yea, well not exactly  but that's what I was thinking.  Well, anyway she scheduled me for an interview later on that Friday.  So for the next two days I was bubbling over with joy b/c I felt like this was my big opprunitiony to get that new job that I've been waiting for. So Friday came and I cleaned up real nice, dress shirt, tie, nice slacks and dress shoes.  I arrived to the store 25 min earlier b/c of a certain someone but I'm not going to call you out Ashley I'm better then that. Ooops.  Anyway I walked in and asked for the guy.  He came around the corner and I greeted him with a firm handshake and the eye contact.  We went to the back into his office and he asked me all these questions and I answered them confidently. Next, he set me up for a second internview the same day with his boss, so I was now one step closer.  Well, anyway I ended up talking to that guy and he turned out to be a pretty funny guy.  When I left I felt confident I was going to get the job and after two days I finally received the call from them offering me the job.  So now after two years off and on at Domino's delivering pizzas and dealing with crazy customers it's now time for me to move on. I was excited to get a new job but now it's going to be hard to quit Domino's.  It wasn't my first job but it was the first job i ever got on my own.  So now I only have 3 days left at Domino's and on Monday I will be moving on and beginning my new job at Circuit City.  In other news summer school is getting close to the end and I couldn't be any happier.  Well anyway that about wraps everything up.
